An $8.1m funding increase to the Crankworx mountain biking competition will support its Rotorua event until finally 2027 and ensure up to 24 gatherings in the South Island.

The funding bundle was declared on Tuesday by Financial and Regional Improvement Minister Stuart Nash, who said the cash from the Government’s Major Functions Fund would give important economic, social and cultural positive aspects to the region.
