Governor Reynolds announces ‘Destination Iowa’ fund to help revitalize Iowa’s tourism industry | Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa (KWWL)– Governor Reynolds recently declared the ‘Destination Iowa’ fund to market tourism in Iowa. The $100 million fund will be out there to applicants commencing future month. 

In Dubuque County there are multiple tasks that could profit from the potential grants. However, its not still clear what forms of initiatives will be accredited.

In accordance to the governor’s office the fund is intended to assistance revitalize the aching tourism marketplace. In Iowa hospitality employment dropped by 46 percent more than the pandemic.

Journey Dubuque’s president and CEO, Keith Rahe suggests the funds is desired but it will be up to the applicants what style of project it is.

“Definitely I assume its up to each individual just one of these individual companies, attraction, entity, to genuinely glance at where by they’re at,” Rahe said. “How they could probably employ this money if they qualify for it, and be in a position to potentially grow one thing for our spot.”

In Dyersville, the Industry of Dreams possession can not specifically implement for the grant, as it is constrained to counties, cities, and non-earnings. On the other hand in a statement they mentioned they are “thrilled to see the chances the fund delivers”.

Purposes for the fund open up on May 9. There will be a webinar with additional details on what projects will potentially be accredited on April 15. 

There is a time restrict for the fund. Any task that applies for the grant has to be accomplished by June 30, 2026.
